1. Eligibility
The Service is available only to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. We may suspend or terminate any account we determine belongs to someone under 18.
2. Your Account
- You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
- You may sign in using Google Sign-In or another supported method; doing so does not grant us access to your broader Google account beyond basic profile information.
3. Your Content
- You own your manuscripts. Any story, chapter, draft, or other written content you create or upload remains your intellectual property. We claim no ownership over your writing.
- By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you (such as proofreading, formatting, or generating publisher recommendations).
- You're responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you upload, and that it doesn't infringe on anyone else's rights.
- You may export or delete your content at any time, subject to our Privacy Policy.
4. Subscriptions & Payment
- Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription. Pricing and billing frequency will be presented to you before you subscribe.
- Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full payment card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing date. You can cancel at any time through your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly stated otherwise.
5. Proofreading & Publishing Guidance
- Proofreading and grammar suggestions are provided as a tool to assist you — you make the final call on all edits, and we don't guarantee the Service will catch every error.
- Publisher matches, submission guidance, and drafted outreach communications are informational aids based on available public information. We do not guarantee acceptance by any publisher, agent, or platform, and we are not a literary agency.
- Self-publishing checklists reflect general guidance for third-party platforms (such as Amazon KDP or IngramSpark); requirements on those platforms may change, and you're responsible for confirming current requirements directly with them.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload content that is unlawful, infringes on another person's rights, or that you don't have permission to use
- Use the Service to harass, defraud, or harm others
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, our systems, or infrastructure
- Use the Service to generate spam or bulk unsolicited communications to publishers or third parties
7. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will result in publication, sales, or any specific outcome for your manuscript.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Telos LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of content, revenue, or publishing opportunities. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through a notice on the Service before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
